SM Cleaning is a family-owned-and-run business, that has grown steadily over the last few years to become one of the largest cleaning businesses based in Cornwall.
We are proud of the work we do, and the high standards to which we maintain our clients’ properties and businesses.
The business was founded in 2009 by Stuart Massey, and now has an annual turnover greater than £1m, thanks to loyal customers and repeat business.
We have a small core staff, including three generations of Stuart’s family, and bring in over a hundred staff each year to cover the busy summer season for our clients in the tourist industry. Our clients are varied, and we can work with anyone, from domestic cleaning for individual homes up to office buildings and weekly change-over day contracts for substantial holiday parks.
Highest standards
High standards are our trademark, and we equip all our teams with the best materials and equipment, as well as a recognisable uniform, to emphasise their professionalism. Full training and onboarding are given to every single member of our staff, and we have many returning team members, from one summer season to the next.
Everyone is DBS checked, and our specialist teams have additional certification in IPAF (working at height). We are also IOSH certified, and ensure that our staff, and the clients and members of the public near where they are working, remain safe at all times.
Local, sustainable commitment
We have tried and trusted local suppliers for as many products and services as we can source.
For example, our laundry service is visible from our office! Our commitment to local businesses is part of our commitment to sustainability. We use refillable bottles and reusable cloths, as a matter of routine, and always plan our driving routes for the most efficient use of fuel and time. Anything that we can recycle (packaging, cardboard, etc) we will recycle appropriately.
Every cleaning product we use meets the appropriate safety standards, and we use the same products across both commercial and domestic clients’ properties, to ensure that everyone gets the highest level of service. For clients with allergies, we can discuss alternatives, to ensure that their needs are met. We have tested many cleaning products and discovered the best for us and our clients, balancing effectiveness, cost, and environmental impact.
